Vermilion Energy Germany is led by managing director Bill Liutkus and general manager Albrecht Möhring.
Mr. Liutkus has 20 years of diverse domestic and international experience primarily focused in engineering and operations. Mr. Liutkus started with Vermilion in Canada in 2006, first as a Drilling Engineer, where he had international responsibility for efficient planning and execution of development and exploration drilling projects in Australia, France and the Netherlands, before progressing to Drilling and Completions Manager. In 2013, Mr. Liutkus transferred to France as Manager, European Technical Services. In this role, Mr. Liutkus worked closely with the European Business Units to ensure HSE and operating standards of Drilling and Completion operations and Asset Integrity. He also managed Facilities Engineering and Workover operations in France. In 2016, he transferred to Germany, where he managed the Germany Business Unit Operations team and the European drilling program. Since May 2018, he acts as Managing Director of the German Business Unit. Prior to joining Vermilion, he worked in well engineering roles with Chevron.
P. Eng. Albrecht Möhring has more than 30 years of diverse experience in the exploration and production business with independent oil and gas company Preussag Energie, as well as integrated energy company GDF Suez (now Neptune). After studying Petroleum Engineering at Clausthal University of Technology, Albrecht was in charge of oil and gas E&P projects as an engineer and manager for Preussag Energie in different countries since 1982, such as the setup and management of an operational branch for Preussag Energie in Venezuela, from 1998 to 2001. From 2003 to 2014, he assumed national and international management tasks at GDF SUEZ E&P, and eventually became Managing Director of the German affiliate. Furthermore, he is a board member of the Federal Association of Natural Gas, Petroleum and Geoenergy (BVEG).
